An Inside Look: Using Social Media to Communicate with Your School Community

Communication with students, parents, and the community minimizes misunderstandings, builds trust, and establishes effective partnerships. Social media is a great tool to “show & tell” what is happening within the class/school. This session will identify the similarities and differences between Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and HootSuite. The presenter will share examples of how social media can impact class/school culture. Participants will choose the best platform and explore ideas for using social media in their class/school. Please register for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and HootSuite prior to attending this session. A cellphone and laptop are required.
